Mobile television is getting closer. Millions of people worldwide are already watching TV on their mobile phones. In The Netherlands, up till now this has been only possible in moderate quality by means of a mobile internet connection (3GTV, UMTS, HSDPA).

Mobiele TV Nederland B.V. (Mobile Television The Netherlands) has obtained a license with which it is possible to offer mobile television via broadcasting, next to KPN. This will result in a healthy, competitive market in which an increasing number of radio and television channels can be offered. Prices for consumers will drop, and new products and services will become available even sooner.

Currently, Mobiele TV Nederland B.V. has an extensive testing network in use in the Haaglanden region. Commercial activities, including a full scale national
- deep indoor - coverage, will commence in the course of 2010.
